It is such a fun read, spicy as to be expected from a KMoon book. I love the dragon shifting, the OV, and discovering parts of their history lost (or destroyed) from time.
It also just for some reason didn't hit me right and that could be because I am not the hugest fan of historicals and my mood wasn't totally aligned for this book. Seriously, it takes me years to get through historical romance series sigh.
Anyhow, I do recommend it and will be reading the next.
Just finished this book and immediately started tearing up. It is such a damn good book. All my emotions are trying to flow through my tears.
This book deals with some heavy stuff (content warning: sibling death (pre-book events) and guilt related to that, alcoholism, bipolar, depression, self-harm, abortion and I'm probably missing some) and it deals with it so well, so realistically. But you really feel for the characters as they try to stay steady and keep their heads above water.
The romance is absolutely adorable and I love them. I love the respect, I love them owning up to their mistakes, and giving space when it is needed. They are each other's rock– but they are young and make mistakes. The book ends though in a way that they will learn and do better going forward and– gotta stop because I am tearing up again.
100% recommend if you're looking for something sweet, real, that also delivers a good kick to the heart.
ehhh idk why this one just didn't seem to have the charm of The Favor. Still sweet and fun, I'll definitely read more of this universe if the sisters get books!!
Also, it is just weird to me that “males” is used to refer to a group of dudes, it threw me off every time. Is something wrong with the word men?
I read 50% then the Revelations part and the last part so ???? I probably read about 70% of this book total.
First part was AWESOME, but then we get all these different POVs from random people and I swear a recap of everything that had happened every few chapters. It was so annoying. Just tell me the new information without explaining again how we got here.
Oh and the mystery regarding Laura (mentioned in the description) doesn't even happen until the 50% mark which made most the beginning of the book feel like filler and backstory.
I'm marking it as a romance because they do develop a relationship, but it is more of a sub-sub-plot.
It really goes into the darker side of gaming and how some people are just horrible to gamers who aren't straight, white men and also how people who make games are taken advantage of. It is surprisingly heavy, but mixed in with some sweeter moments of Aaron and Divya exploring games and talking passionately about their hobbies. The game they play sounds a lot like No Man Sky, so I definitely feel like picking that back up.
The ending... I'm happy there was a win, but wish it was more satisfying even if it wouldn't have been as realistic.
I'm so glad I continued with this story. It is just so interesting and I love all the myths and legends and pantheons brought in. I'm so curious about where it is all going. Although, to be quite honest I'm more interested in the taking over of the NY packs than the Dominion Sect plot which... I know is the main plot, but honestly it feels like it is just the same thing happening in every book. Hopefully the next one will be a smidge different in that regard.
Another great book from this author. It wasn't flashy, there were no explosions, yet it still held my attention with that sense of dread, the creepiness that flowed off every page. I think I preferred [b:Dead Silence 57693184 Dead Silence S.A. Y'all, I'm obsessed. This series was so damn good. The beginning dragged for me, but once I got into the swing of things I couldn't put it down. This fairy tale-like book just flowed and tugged at heartstrings. Romance and death, laughter and tears, and most importantly an HEA.
I seriously cannot wait to read what else this author writes.
This series is literally the sweetest and most heartwarming thing I've ever read in my life. The care, the character growth, the acceptance, and allowing characters to BE who they are without forcing them to come out or do something huge... I love it. I also love the ending author's note and hope as well we one day end up in a more accepting world.
I had tears streaming down my face from laughing so hard and had to stop looking at the book in order to calm down so I could breathe normally. Did the plot make sense at all? ...not really, no– in fact, I ended up skimming the info dump explanations because ...seriously? but the humor was on point.
5 stars for the enjoyment factor and the vibes.
