So I have sat on this book for a little bit, and I have to admit, some of it fell flat. I think the fact that we waited so long for this book, everyone's expectations were just too high. I'm happy with the ending, the conclusion, the aspects of TOG and ACOTAR were great. I think I hyped it too much in my head.

There is a few story lines that kinda made me go ‘huh'. Tharion's and Ithan's being the main two. The rest was just Bryce doing a lot off page, and then us finding out what a good character she is after.

This was my first Kristen Ciccarelli book, and I can promise you it will not be my last. I don't know what it is about her writing but I absolutely just fell in love with it.

Rune is a witch in hiding as she is being hunted, but also goes out at night to save witches that the Regime has captured. She decides to court Gideon, who is a witch hunter so she can get more intel. He courts her as he believes she may be the witch he's been hunting. Every scene between the two of them felt like a chess match - both trying to outsmart the other constantly.

This is truly what Enemies to Lovers should be. A battle between each other and themselves. Not a page went by where I could stop reading. I read most of it in one day!

Definitely a 2024 favourite already!

I loved this book, but it had my least fav trope in it - separation. My favourite part of Jennifer's books is the banter between MCs, and since Sera wasn't with Nyktos for more than half the book, it had me skimming a bit. That was also a problem because there was so much information dumping as well during that time. So much better when they were back together.

I really enjoyed the premises of the book. The glaring issue for me was that the MC obviously has some past trauma of issues with her mom that, while obviously don't need to be resolved, they weren't even really touched on? Ox had some good character growth, but Emmie really didn't have any.

I now understand why this is a lot of people's favourite in the series. This one out of all of them kept me enthralled until the end. Chaol had his redemption.

A little repetitive because it was the first book in Casteel's POV. But it was a fun read! Makes me excited for the rest of the series.

2024 reread - still five stars

This book just proves why Rebecca Ross is my favourite writer. She makes me feel things in her books that no one else does. This book is no exception. Rereading for Ruthless Vows, and I cannot wait to pick the second book up.

Best book so far of the entire series!

I couldn't finish the book, I loved the plot, the feel, the character building. But it was way too predictable for me unfortunately and about halfway through I had to see if I was right. Spoiler I was very right. I'm still giving it a two stars, as it's an atmosphere I love, but maybe I've just read too many books like this lol
