If you enjoy spy-type thrillers then this is definitely for you. I enjoy a good thriller, however this kind of read is out of my norm. I am glad I took the time to read it. It does put into question....what if? Considering the power the government has over everything, it is a valid concern and this book will take you on a thrilling and scary journey of What If??
This is not a book to read quickly. To fully grasp the imagery, story, and situations the people of New Eden are faced with, this must not be read but digested.
Watching Fillion grow into a better person, finding worth in himself and the value in that same worth to others had me in tears. Likewise watching Willow come to the realization of who she is as a young woman and finding the strength and the love within herself that she shares with Fillion made my heart ache.
Coal's change from “Martian” to “fully human” was very interesting to see. How the “real world” interacts is such a cold place to live. And yet he finds love in Lynden and gives up the life he once knew. Lynden growing, changing, and coming into her own person was a struggle to read. My heart hurt for her and rejoiced along with her when she and Coal finally came together.
There are so many secrets withheld from the people of New Eden. The threat to their way of life and potential ejection from the only home some of them have know is tearing me apart.
And yet the saga continues. I cannot wait to get lost within this journey again...
Thank you so much Jesikah Sundin for allowing me the pleasure of continuing this series and reviewing it for other readers.
I really wanted to like this one. It was very slow, bad editing, and the storyline was sadly boring.
I do appreciate the chance at winning this from a Goodreads Giveaway and being able to read and review.
I was asked by the author to read and review this cute story! Follow the tale of this adorable fox as she tries to bring the sun to her mom and finds friendship and courage along the way. I love the life lessons showcased and cannot wait to read this to my grandbaby. Thank you for the opportunity to read this loveable tale.
Quick, easy read. Enjoyable but not thrilling or suspenseful. Main character was tiresome at some points with constant repetition but overall it was an ok story.
I was gifted this beautiful story by the author about a tiny hare on a quest to save his sick sister. On his journey he learns to overcome his fear, with the help of some courageous friends.
For those looking for a fun, yet meaningful story for the babies....this is it. Also be sure to check out her other book The Sunny Adventure!! Trust me you'll fall in love with the stories as well as the cute little critters.
Another fun one with Stormy Day and Jeffrey. I love the 1st one the most so far but this is definitely an enjoyable series and what a way to get through a workout at the gym.
In Death of a Crafty Knitter we return to Misty Falls and Stormy Day (lovable gift store owner/part time nosy “detective”. A member of the Misty Falls Crafty Knitters meets with an untimely demise. It's up to Stormy and her father to snoop, prowl and uncover the truth of who the murderer is.
I was giggling so many times throughout this story. Who doesn't love a good murder mystery in a small town? The only thing l was hoping to see more of was development of the spark between Stormy and handsome lawyer Logan. It's there, it's slowly building...so maybe the third book is the charm?
My heart. This was such a well written story about teenage angst and the manipulations that can be had when the path badly taken and low self worth collide. Sarah's journey and eventual liberation that later leads to deep soul searching and growth had me in tears.
This was a Goodreads giveaway win. I appreciate the chance to read and review Stolen.
Couldn't get into this one. Had to force myself to finish it. Very slow book although the story was good.
Its been a year since Jonny has learned he can talk to and hear the dead. Since his last escapade with Alice Pickering in #thespiritinthecrypt he has been working with Aaron to hone his ghostly skills.
There is an old abandoned house where a fire killed 3 of it's inhabitants and has a vengeful spirit. Accidents begin happening and Jonny knows they are anything but. Will he and Aaron be able to stop this spirit before anymore deaths happen?
What a great follow up to The Spirit in the Crypt. From the beginning to the end it had me invested! Utterly creepy and dark!
I really enjoyed this different and imaginative read. For this book we follow Lily through the perils of jungle life, learning the ways of the tribe she lives with, while she also learns who she really is deep down.
Even though how Lily got to the jungle is about as far fetched as one can imagine, it made for a good story. It was slow in some parts but was to be expected considering the storyline (Lily adapting to jungle life).
One MAJOR point to make...if you go into this one thinking it's a thriller (as advertised) you will be disappointed. This is in no way a thriller. There are a couple of parts that while exciting are not thrilling. I would categorize this as more of a partial action/drama.
Didn't hate it, but didn't love it either. Writing and characters were good. Overall story just didn't draw my attention. Was hard to stay focused in some parts.
This is a terrifying read. There is so much I didn't know about this man and the horrible things he did. I couldn't believe how many times he was able to avoid getting caught by the police.
Really not much else to say about this one except that if you're fascinated by serial killers this is a good one to read. It not only follows his path from child to serial killer but also delves into the psychological aspect behind the why. Although most of that is speculation it is interesting nonetheless.
Wow! This was completely outside the realm of what I normally read. I am not a gamer but the context of this book drew me in. I was not disappointed! Love all the MCs. Writing was done very well. Intrigue, love, twists of fate and more. I am thankful I was given the opportunity by the author to read and review this one. I am definitely going to continue this series.
This was a lot better than I expected it to be. I was engaged from the beginning. Good writing and characters.
Welcome to Pleasant Creek, Indiana and the first in a new lovable cozy mystery series.
Liz Eckhart's mother has passed and leaves a diary with mysterious entries alluding to her past. Liz is determined to learn the secrets of her mother's diary and find the family she has never met. She purchases the Olde Mansion Inn, housed in Pleasant Creek, where her mother lived.
During the course of business, one of her visitors is murdered and a local Amish boy (Issac) is arrested for the crime. Town talk suggests that Issac couldn't be responsible and there must be some other explanation.
Join Liz, and a rambunctious group of women she has befriended (the Material Girls) as they decipher details over quilting sessions, solve the mystery of the murder, and shed light on Liz' diary.
How was unwinding started? What deeper secrets are there behind the founder of this process and why are all references to him....gone?
Connor & Lev are putting things together and vow to find the truth behind the unwinding process, and find a way to stop it. Risa has escaped and is just trying to stay alive until she can be reunited with Connor.
Meanwhile, Starkey is inviting war with all the chaos he and the Stork Brigade are causing. Camus is still struggling with who he is and is making his own plans on taking down Proactive Citizenry from the inside.
This is the 3rd book in the series and while slow at some points (understandable with the research and ground setting scenarios being introduced) it is definitely keeping my attention. I am wholly invested to finish this one out.
Join Elbie and Joey on the hunt to solve a mystery. They are unique in that they can see and talk to ghosts. Even though they struggle with ADHD (Elbie) and Asperger's (Joey) they aren't shown with that as a hindrance and I loved that immensely. They are a little quirky yes but it adds to the charm of the book. This is definitely the series for all the young sleuths who aren't afraid of a little spook.
I was asked to read and review Ghosters2 by the author. I did not receive anything other than the joy of reading this cute and well written book. Despite this being the 2nd in the series it can be read standalone. There are a few references to the 1st book but that does not take away from it overall.
This is definitely one I will be saving for my reading time with the grandbabies. ❤️❤️
So ok...I read this all today...did not mean to lol. I could not put this one down. I really enjoyed the pace and feel of the characters. My heart feels for Rhen and the decisions he feels forced to make. You see Harper throughout but she is not the focus and I appreciated the indepth look into the world around and outside of Ironrose Castle.
I loved getting to know Grey better and sympathized with his struggle in how to decide what path to take. Lia Mara is a pleasant surprise and I loved her instantly, as I did her sister.
The ending leaves me devastated yet hopeful for what the next book will bring.
Though the harrowing summer of before has come and gone Brookline won't let Dan, Abby and Jordan out of it's grip. The three friends are riddled with bad dreams, lack of sleep and the inability to move on.
Strange photos of a carnival held at Brookline finds their way into the friends' hands with a mysterious message for Dan. Is it time to return to Brookline?
Under the guise of prospects for the town college, Dan, Abby and Jordan stray deeper into the mystery that is Brookline (and it's warden) while trying to solve the mystery of the photos, stay sane, and make it out alive.
During a poetry retreat a guest, who claims she is related to the late Emily Dickinson, is found dead along the shoreline. Who could possibly want this eccentric person killed? Is there more to her story than just her claim to fame?
Faith & Watson are such a delight and make a great mystery solving team. Throw in the ever faithful members of the Candle House Book Club and it's just pure sleuthing fun. There is just no end to my love for this cozy series.
This is number 4 in the Stormy Day cozy series and what a fun one it was. Such a delightful, humorous series.
Logan and Stormy are called to the Koenig mansion for breakfast with the unofficial “King” of Misty Falls. Little did they know they would walking into his death instead. It's up to them, with help from Jessica and Finnegan, to discover the truth behind what really happened.
Let me tell you it's a fun mystery solving adventure full of laughs, danger and charm. I love the humor in this series so far and this one was no different as I was giggling often. I just can't believe it took me so long to find this genre. It's such a great break between my other, darker reads.
