Too sweet. Could smell and taste the sugar. Typical Christmas story. Nonetheless something nice for the season.
We are never truly prepared for such a disaster. Be it physical resources for the paramedics and hospitals but also human resource.
I wish I got more of Heidi's backstory. She feels so inadequate but I'd understand especially since her parents didn't believe in her. Patrick on the other end wanted to grow up fast. We have other characters looking forward to arriving at their destinations to meet with family, to apologise and reunite...
This book has so much lessons... It is quite fast paced, mild gore, sad bits, and leaves a lot of questions at the end.
Great story, love the story telling at least in the beginning. Some strict editing would have done this book some good. Too long... Unnecessarily long.
The suspense! Not proud of this but I nearly flipped the pages to the last 5 chapters then get back to the story afterwards. The multiple POVs were annoying at first then they got very curious... I started wondering if one POV was lying to me as a reader.
The reason as to why the person dies is pretty sad.
Would totally recommend
Harry Potter books always manage to get me all cozy, warm, dreamy✨... And I can't help but appreciate the art of writing fiction. Love the movie but it left out so much.
Hated the ending, felt quite childish... Premature and just kind of rushed. Like here...this, this, don't even question this, a bit of wickedness and bam... That's the end everybody. Also the cover subtitle is misleading. Won't spoil it so you might have to just read it to know what I mean.
The book hooked me. I had to pause after part one and all my mind was doing was trying to figure out what could be happening...
The book is packaged with all sorts of red flags for men, written in first and second person, 12 short stories in total. I did not finish the book. It was full of sad stories back to back no positive endings till where I got to. I also found the explicit scenes too much and kind of forced. Maybe because I wasn't bonding and rooting for the couples.
There's so much authenticity in the characters and the animals have quite some personalities. It was a beautiful fantasy story well blended with a few themes and lessons. I enjoyed seeing Aisha's character arc and her fighting against what society expects from her as a woman and her choosing her own destiny.
I never expected this children fiction novel to be so deep... At some point I wondered if children could comprehend its depth in full. Loved it! Such a sweet story.
Would recommend it for when feeling down and gloomy.
A good read but I hate the place it left me at. Took me to thoughts I didn't want to tackle. Will hit you hard when at your lowest. Love how the author took time developing the plot and how one could predict the ending after a few scenes of things not working out.
The book was slow paced then 2/3 in everything got intense... Basically how thrillers are.... Very educational and brought to light a couple of things. Would recommend and be patient with it.
This was a nice sequel. If you are wondering whether to continue with the series... Please do.
This was the first book I ever read by John Grisham. It was the book that lured me in and one of my starters in crime fiction. Highly recommended especially if you are testing the genre.
It's a beautiful continuation of the book one... As usual, Jayne Ann Krentz managed to put in the mysteries... I loved meeting Arcadia's psycho-husband BTW...
Robyn's story moved me a bit. /There were tears/
The cover of the paperback I have gives ghost mystery... Add the missing family and I really expected paranormal.
Anyway... The Julius House investigation took like halfway into the book to get a bit serious... The first half was like Roe and secretive husband issues who could probably even be in illegal businesses.... I feel like this issue/conflict was left somewhat hanging... I'll just assume the husband's poor communication and Roe's confidence in pushing for answers will lead to future problems.
Really heart touching story but the cover gave a different vibe from the book content. I loved the story.
I'll give it a 4.1 star... I think this is the real ‘Shatter me'. The writing in this one is better...
The repetitions were lesser for sure. My brain got used to the strikethrough sentences.
I still hate Warner so much and I hate how the book kind of killed Adam's and Juliette's love... But not really... Maybe Juliette likes toxic guys
Such a comedy. Every chapter made me laugh. Light train robbery mystery, plot twists are friendly, romance easy on the reader, heavy on the comedy and christmas spirit!
Recommend it for anyone in search of a warm read, and for travels
It needs a bit of patience for the first 10 or so chapters... I found the poems, quotes a little out of place at times.... The romanticization of each line in dialogue especially and the repetition were too much. But when reading, I got used to all this, the story is good and each character was very unique and interesting. Definitely going for book 2.
This is one of my favorites! It is a short read filled with simple plot twists, mysteries, amazing and unique characters. The writing style is fun! Currently reading it's book two (Truth or Dare) coz I just couldn't stop at re-reading book one.
