Delightful. At first I wasn't sure about the format (written as a series of letters, telegrams etc.) but once I got started it was fine. This is a very satisfying tale of love, loss, acceptance and ingenuity all fine elements of a fantastic story. If you love books and reading then I highly recommend this one.
AUTHOR: DO NOT READ THIS REVIEW!!! I want to see more of your work. I don't think my review is going to keep you from writing - at least I hope not, but it's really not something you need to hear.
Amnesia is an antiquated plot device and pushes a book to the level of soap opera. The writing is snappy, but I got distracted about 4/5's of the way through the book and that is not a good place for that to happen.
Good roundup of a few alternative investments that can add diversity to your portfolio. As always once a book like this is written with specific investments named that information will have changed by the time the book is published but this book did give me enough education that I can speak with a financial adviser on how I might use some of these strategies and not be held completely to mutual funds or individual stocks.
This book was creepy, chilling, and atmospheric. AND then we get to the last 50 or so pages and it fell apart. Felt like the author didn't know how to end the book and so hit for the cheap seats.
For me it was on a course for a four star rating - maybe a five. Then those last pages took the tingle right out of my imagination.
Story of a self classified, loser, private detective looking for an alternate Constitution of the United States. But that is not the prime message of the book. The prime message is that the author found all of this sick stuff on the internet. This book is scatological, perverse, perverted, and has little socially redeeming value...and yet I enjoyed it. It is disgusting and yet laugh out loud funny as well as eliciting gasps of shock and often making you feel appalled and dirty. THIS IS NOT A BOOK for the prudish or the easily offended or for that matter those who are difficult to offend but if you are looking for something that is way different this is it. Again some of my friends will thoroughly enjoy this book and some of you if you do dare to read it will probably feel sympathy for me that I actually read it and enjoyed it. Please still be my friend.
Non-fiction book about one woman's year long journey into creating her own reality. Mostly a good book although some of the folks she quoted I resonated with more than the author. One quote in particular was delightful and I paraphrase...“How can you open yourself to abundance if your heart is closed tight like a fist?” Again, I'm not looking at the book so the quote is probably just close but I love the lesson.
If you believe in creating your own reality this is a quite good reference.
