4 Books
See allThis author and book resonated with me as both a parent and a college academic advisor. Some of it may seem like common sense but it's all worth repeating. One thing I was reminded as I read her book (and something I notice daily in my profession) is that there are a lot of really amazing young people making their way in the world. Let's support them and then get out of their way!
I actually really struggled with how to rate this book. I liked it and also really disliked it at the same time. I ended up giving it 4 stars just because it wasn't so clear cut and really made me think. At times it felt like the author was trying too hard but other moments were perfect. This one will stick with me a little longer than normal.
It was really hard deciding what to rate this book. There were some chapters that were hilarious, a couple I absolutely loved, and then a bunch that lost me. I'm glad I read it. It was not a waste of time, but I'm just not in love with it. However, I would still recommend it to the right person, and I will most likely read her other book.
