This book was bat-shit crazy and had me confused most of the time. Like the overall plot was a typical thriller but the big twist and even bigger twist were just insane. Also there was no one to root for as the main character was very unlikeable and just made the stupidest, unrealistic decisions.
Not a standout read. There were some twists I wasn't expecting but it still felt like a lot of work to finish this book. Kudos to the author for writing one of the most unlikable characters in fiction.
I thought it was going to be a reimagining but it ended up being a retelling of the original just with different perspectives and more detailing. It wasn't bad just more of a depressing read than I was looking for.
Loved this! Such a great setting that really heightened the tension — one of the best isolation thrillers. There were just so many great components to this story and the use of multiple POVs was excellently used. The climax was just so well done and exciting, probably one of my favorites!
So inspiring and helpful for when you're going through tough times or at a crossroads. Read the e-book and ended up saving so many pages to look on for later days.
Really informative and, at many moments, horrifying. Author did a great job at trying to stay neutral to the situations and looking through both parties' eyes.
Cute read that did a good job staying light and refreshing despite the main character's struggle. Loved the nice little twist towards the end! Also good to see a different kind of representation for the leading man.
Truly a great message behind the book but I had a hard time connecting to it — mainly due to the book's summary not being a great representative. I wish it would've come with trigger warnings and that the last part would've been less rushed.
Read like I was watching a movie! So many unexpected twists and a main character that you're constantly rooting for and isn't a typical protagonist that's constantly messing up.
One of the WORST children in media. Truly diabolical and warped. Of course the father is a big part of the problem, like in every depiction of family horror where they don't believe their wives. Just absolutely frustrating!
Would love to see a short sequel about their future
Very much an overhyped read. Wasn't that scary or even psychologically trilling. The ending was disappointing too but was probably the only scary part.
