This had the same effect of taking out your beautiful golden crusted pie from the oven and cutting into to find a half-baked disappointment.
It's a great idea to have a story about someone taking advantage of someone who is vulnerable and progressively that person becoming more & more dependant on their abuser, dealing with the mental stress comes from that etc etc but this story was just silly in every way. Relationship & tasks escalation was too quick. The other part too is the messages just reeked of 2010s Tumblr which can work (i.e. How to lose a time war) but here it was just groan worthy.
Reviews are dumb, I'm just annoyed because I wanted to like this book. Such a great cover.
Great book but fumbled at the finishline with the intent of trying to leave a shocking impact rather than one that made sense. Disappointing but also maybe I am missing/overlooking something that makes the ending seems less stupid.
Disturbing horror as if it was written by the edgy kid in class who views HC2 as a magnum opius of cinema. Who knew reading awful things could be this boring.
Sci-fi by and large is one of least favorite genres but with ideas/execution this creative it tore down my bias and let me enjoy a story while not perfect, is still throughly enjoyable.
Fun but characters were shit and really can't recommend this to anyone. I don't regret reading it but it's pretty close.
