I originally read the Kindle Edition of this book and it was my introduction to dark romance. I really enjoyed it. recently I decided to revisit the book as an audio book and unfortunately it wasn't nearly as good. In the podium audio book version the male actor was so strange to listen to and he sounded like a pirate LOL. It completely broke the mood for me and I ended up laughing so many times. I wasn't really looking for a comedy so I'm leaving this at DNF.

I love the style of writing and how the tone changes as the POV changes. Not many authors do this so well!

I was gutted at the end of the last book so much that I took a little time off after to process and read another book but am back to binge through this one.

• Bryce Quinlan, a half-Fae, half-human, works at Griffin Antiquities and parties with her best friend Danika, alpha of the Pack of Devils.
  - Danika and her entire pack are brutally murdered in Bryce's apartment; Bryce is injured trying to confront the demon responsible.

  - Micah, the Archangel of Crescent City, is revealed to be behind the murders, seeking to use the Horn to open a portal to Hel.
  - Danika had the Horn's essence tattooed on Bryce's back, making her the key to activating it.
  - Micah attacks Bryce; Lehabah, a fire sprite, sacrifices herself to help Bryce kill him.
  - Bryce makes the Drop alone, with Danika's spirit anchoring her, unleashing her full Starborn power to close the portal to Hel.
  - Hunt is freed from slavery after Queen Hypaxia dissolves his slave tattoo; he and Bryce begin a new chapter together.

DNF: Eh it was okay. It was more taboo than spicy. I didn't finish it, I got bored of her feelings this way then that way.
