Star Wars Canon is a 94-book series with 91 released primary works first released in 1976 with contributions by Terry Brooks, R. A. Salvatore, Karen Traviss, Matthew Woodring Stover, Mur Lafferty, Alexander Freed, George Lucas, Alan Dean Foster, Donald F. Glut, James Kahn, Jason Fry, Rae Carson, Daniel José Older, James Luceno, John Jackson Miller, Christie Golden, Chuck Wendig, Kevin Hearne, Claudia Gray, Paul S. Kemp, Greg Rucka, E. K. Johnston, Landry Q. Walker, Ken Liu, Saladin Ahmed, Mira Grant, Timothy Zahn, Beth Revis, Delilah S. Dawson, Kevin Shinick, Zoraida Córdova, Rebecca Roanhorse, Cavan Scott, Alex Segura, Albert Agut Iglesias, Sarah Kuhn, Justina Ireland, Charles Soule, Tessa Gratton, Mike Chen, Kiersten White, Sam Maggs, George Mann, Lydia Kang, and Kelly Thompson. 1 book is still to be released. In 2014, when Disney restructured the Star Wars continuity, the existing Expanded Universe (EU) was rebranded as Star Wars Legends. These older books, comics, and stories—originally considered part of the timeline—were declared non-canon to make way for a new, unified narrative. From that point forward, all newly published books became part of the official Disney-era canon, starting with A New Dawn, and are coordinated with films, TV series, and other media to maintain consistency across the franchise.
