Seventeen year old Clayton Zediker, virtual orphan now that his mother lies in a coma, tries to make sense of his life but becomes entangled with friends who take advantage of him. He also fears the transformation that will take place on his eighteenth birthday, December 21, 2012, which coincides with the mysterious end date of the Mayan calendar.
