I read somewhere that this was one of the funniest works of literature around. That's a little too strong of a statement. It is very funny though. It starts off slowly, but around 1/3 of the way through picks up. It's the story of a man who the police incorrectly believe killed his wife. Funny coincidences and lots of police incompetence.
Tom Sharpe's works can be tough to find in the US, but I'm looking forward to reading more at some point.
