Wicked As You Wish

I really liked her other books but this was surprisingly mediocre! Very dull, not well-written, a bunch of stuff just happens in a really jarring way that doesn't leave space to process or emotionally connect with anything. Objectively I guess the world of fairy tale magic + modern USA, which leads to things like the Filipino main character's aunts and uncles fighting off ICE with magic, is something as an SJW I should appreciate, but meh. This was about as deep as that Magnus Chase nonsense and about as well-written.

From the endnotes this is like, an earlier novel of hers that went unpublished, revised and published after she had some other novels out, which I guess makes sense.
