This was the Lost in Romance Book Club pick for January. My cohost suggested this book for us to read something a little bit different to what we have been reading and I'm glad she did. I don't typically read a whole lot of romantic suspense. I've probably read a handful of romantic suspense at this point and some have worked and some haven't. Luckily this one worked.

When it comes to romantic suspense or any other similar genre the reasons they don't tend to work for me as often is because there isn't enough balance between the romance and the suspense. A lot of the time one or the other usually takes over the plot. With this book I felt like it was pretty well balanced. It started off mostly being about the suspense side of the plot with a hint of potential romance and then things really amped up even more for the suspense and the romance as well. I can see where people will think the romance took over the story in the last half but I felt like it was really well done and the suspense of what could possibly happen next was always there.

There's a lot of action with some twists thrown in some danger and some steamy scenes. Overall I ended up really enjoying this book and definitely want to continue on with the series because it did end on a bit of a cliffhanger.
