Whiskey Beach

You pretty much know what you are getting with a Nora Roberts single title novel but I must say this one was not my favorite. It was very slow and the heroine was way too Mary Sue perfect. The romantic relationship arc was one straight line up with little tension or spark. I'm not necessarily looking for angst a la Eve Dallas in every Nora book but a little more energy between hero and heroine would have been welcome. I quickly tired of reading about hero's perfect family and would have preferred some pages devoted to a secondary romance subplot instead.
