What a sweet little Christmas story! I loved reading about Jack and Maggie and their longing to have a better Christmas than the daily grind of war rations and bombings. When the worst happens, and they are left homeless on Christmas Eve, they take shelter in a home that has a door hanging open. What sort of future might that door lead to?
