“The trouble with denial is that when the truth comes, you aren't ready.”
I'm so glad to be out of Marin's melodramatic, boring little head. Besides hinting over and over again that she's been trough some trauma, her thoughts are plagued with tedious depictions of oh-so-mundane things. Many times I wanted to yell out loud “Who cares, just move on with the story already!”
Yes, there were a few intriguing moments when she would talk about her strange relationship with her grandfather and it's great that there's diversity in terms in terms of sexuality and ethnic background but, overall, it's a half-baked story with no plot, incredibly bland characters and snail-like pacing.
