OMG Completely and utterly balls to the wall bonkers. This was so nearly a 5 just for the sheer entertainment value. The misdirection is superb and the characters are as fleshed out as they need to be in a story like this. But I did work out who the culprit was quite early on, and because of that the ending did fall a little flat so I knocked a star off. I will say that of these kind of books that have a twist you won't see coming, this is one of the best I've read.
Best read with a nice cup of tea and a biscuit.
oh you best believe i CHEWED THIS ONE UPPPP and then suddenly i was just DONE! wow such a speed read!! definitely made me think “hmmm I should maybe be reading more mysteries!” i love a book that is just overflowing with british-ness, like the british-isms were practically bleeding from the pages, yes yes jolly good
DNF @ 28%. I'm sure this book is perfectly fine, but I don't think I need to continue with a book I have no feelings towards almost a third of the way through.

Read for my work's book club. I didn't love it, but I also think I need to discuss it before I can give it a rating
It was a little slow in the beginning but the 2nd half of this book made up for it. Lisa Jewell has yet to disappoint me.
why are people hating on this i LOVED THIS. I loved every perspective and the way it tied in the end definitely was a shock. I just love anything Lisa Jewell writes and this was no exception. The only reason its a 4 is because I feel like its not on that five star level that Then she was gone and Invisible Girl is. Overall I loved this and read it so fast
Good book! I give it five stars because I did not see the twist coming until the end.
Slow at times, but I enjoyed it. I did figure out the end. Entertaining but nothing great.
I could not get into this book. It was so drawn out and I was beyond ready for it to get to the point. The ending had a twist that I enjoyed, but the majority was meh.
I meant to read I Found You by Lisa Jewell, but picked up this book instead lol

The book itself was great though.
I think I would have enjoyed this more if I actually read it instead of listening to it while I was working from home, quarantine life am I right?! This is something I will definitely have to pick up again though.

If I have never read a book by an author before sometimes, I will buy something else just to become familiar with the writing style. I am so glad I did. This has to be one of the most well-written thrillers I have read in a long time. The opening chapter sees a policewoman processing a crime scene. An unidentified person lies dead on the kitchen floor. We then rewind to two months earlier and cover the weeks leading up to the murder, with intermittent flash-forwards to police interviews with various neighbors. Several chapters in and I had concluded that the majority of the characters weren't very nice people. There were a few that had likeability potential, others I just felt plain sorry for, and two in particular that frankly made my skin crawl. It also became clear early on that almost every character was either watching a neighbor, being watched by a neighbor, or sometimes both. They lurked in bushes, took photographs, recorded video, used binoculars, looked in windows, followed one another, and bumped into each other on purpose. Disturbing behavior, right? At least that's what I thought... Then the last half of the book pretty much took everything I thought I knew and threw it out the window. Lisa Jewell is the queen of misdirection apparently, and I'm the sucker that fell for it. I still can't get over how wrong I was. And that last page – man-oh-man, so good! Aside from edge-of-your-seat crime suspense, the author succeeds at injecting a lot of emotion and heart into her stories. I admit to tearing up a couple of times. ‘Watching You' is every bit impressive and memorable Run, don't walk, to read it!
An addictive page-turner with an unexpected twist!
I thought I had it all figured out...I was wrong!
For a bit I felt like there was a lot of different things going on and some of them seemed out of place and/or boring. As I got farther into the book things started to come together. Jewell gives you so much information that you feel like you have all the pieces to solve the mystery and know why but it isn't as simple as that. I enjoyed this much more than I anticipated!
I definitely enjoyed Watching You. There's enough red herrings and withheld information that you're not quite sure what happened until almost the end, and it features an interesting cast of characters.
My issue was that I never really cared about any of those characters. They were interesting enough to keep me reading, but I wasn't overly invested in them. That lack of connection on my part meant I never truly felt much suspense or like I just had to keep reading to find out what happened. Instead, it was more a mild curiosity to see how it'd all tie together.
I'd still be interested in trying some of Jewell's others book, though.
Another fantastic Lisa Jewell read. Was initially a bit slow to start, but once it picked up, this book was impossible to put down. Love the different character perspectives that keep you guessing till the end.
