Chick lit at its best. Girl next door, best friend, that kind of thing that always works out
Soap opera style and through drama and two decades, but I guess it all made sense for the sake of the story, even the things I disliked (the one dimensional mother and father, Vince and Joy's inaptitude for happiness...)
