Vakooja

Quick-moving story set in the Spanish civil war, this time on the Falangist side. The protagonist seems like one of the bad guys from a Carlos Ruiz Zafón novel. Lots of spy action, killing people and whatnot. Very cold-hearted stuff, except when there are ladies involved.

This is a very old-fashioned story, where men are rought and tough and women are beautiful and the protagonist ends up either in bed or otherwise in the receiving end of sexual favours with just about every female he comes across.

I used to like Pérez-Reverte's books, but I've skipped a lot of them. Looks like I probably haven't missed much.
