Vain

I feel betrayed by all the reviewers who gave this lots of stars.

Wrong form of your used, does not know what “implying” means, main character was a spoiled brat, talks about how Africa is a “forgotten country” then does not accurately displays/explains Africa. Someone did not do their research completely. Shame.

I was not expecting what this book turned out to be. There were definitely some moments where I thought the story was impractical and hard to believe, but overall the story was satisfying in character development, plot, and its conclusion.

I usually don't comment on books but I really can't contain myself on this one. I'm still not done with this book but I really am hating having to read text by an author who doesn't know the meaning of words she's using (putting “illusive” instead of “elusive”, “revelry” instead of “reverie”, “your” instead of “you're”, “it's” instead of “its”... the list goes on and on). There are also all these attempts at describing how people talk (“I oozed into his ear.”) that are just strange.

This smells like another one of those fanfics disguised as young adult books. Ugh. While I love that people are reading, if they're reading imprecise and grammatically incorrect stuff like this, it's a big shame.

I think I'll end up giving this book one star for the plot. It's the terrible writing that's destroying what could've been a pleasant book-reading experience.
