Unsettled Ground

In the sense of writing style, this is a swift and easy read; in the sense of subject matter, this is a tough one!

The characters are deep, complex, with many qualities. The twists and turns are very well developed.

Excellent story.

I read this because I enjoyed [b:Bitter Orange 38589871 Bitter Orange Claire Fuller https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1519083306l/38589871.SY75.jpg 59739980] by the same author, but I can't say I enjoyed it. It was well written, but if I had known what it was about before picking it up I would've passed.

I really wanted to love this. I did not. Twee and predictable, with dated views and unrealistic characters. I just didn't get it.
