Trick or Treat

Everyone is so juvenile especially considering their age and then the main character's internal dialogue with quirky words and phrases just gets confusing.
BUT, it is an interesting premise and things were looking up (I mean a little) when I realized this is a series about the same characters NOT interconnected standalones and... I just couldn't. I might have found it in me to finish this if it was a standalone, but I know there is no way I'd be able to keep reading this writing style for 3 books.
