This an account of Deborah's love for Ian Curtis, despite everything, even knowing the tragic end, even when it's so obviously broken there's hope. There could have been so much anger and rage in this biography, but it feels like a fair account and has some lovely detail, and the pain, regret is very apparent. The lyrics and unfinished writings are an unexpected bonus. I don't think the full suffering of those left behind by suicide is shown here. There will always be the question of if I said or did something different or was there a bit earlier: would you still have decided to go? The weight of this burden is not completely revealed at the end.
