Tools and Weapons

Just decided to abandon, without regrets. After I put what I consider to be a reasonable amount of time and effort [read 27%/108 pages], it's not what it promises in title and cover.
Was hoping for a more holistic view on the social impact of new technology. Maybe some visionary, inspiring thoughts, or ideas about how to use caution in the process of adopting specific technologies, considering their benefits and risks.
Instead, it felt draggy, lawyer-istic in tone and style, if I'm allowed to invent this word.
Phrases are unnecessarily long and twisted, as a non-native English user it was difficult for these first 108 pages, and I doubt it gets better towards the end. My opinion on the writing - overly complicated style, and very little substance under.
If I'm asked what's the main idea I got from this partial reading, it is just a self-praise on Microsoft's legal team, and generally how amazing their lawyers are and how much they got the company out of trouble...feels like PR content disguised as a book, thanks but no thanks. It's a good thing I got it as a gift.
