Too Like the Lightning

This book is a hot mess that I alternately couldn't put down and had a hard time slogging through. I can't decide if the plot was some seriously brilliant 3D chess that I wasn't always able to follow, OR if it actually made not a ton of sense. I can't decide if the book's approach to gender was challenging norms in a positive way or reinforcing binarist stereotypes. And so it goes. But this is certainly unlike anything else I've ever read, and the world was super interesting, and I REALLY liked some of the characters.
