Another lovely dip into the All Souls universe! My chief complaint is there isn't really an overarching plot to the book. It's glimpses into Marcus's life – prevampire and postvampire transformation. It ends rather suddenly too, leaving the reader feeling like they missed something along the way. I did like the new information on vampires. The appearances from Phillipe and the rest of the de Clermont clan were wonderful, and gave you more appreciation for them as characters. I really can't wait to read Gallowglass's story next – he's my favorite.
