Then She Was Gone

I am confused by this book. Was it supposed to be suspenseful? Was it supposed to be unpredictable?

The writing was great. The characters were real and their voices were clear and I felt their pain and longing.

BUT....there was nothing surprising. I think by the first few chapters you know everything there is to know (except maybe exactly how much Floyd knew) and I'm not sure if it's supposed to be that way or what. Still, it was a fun read.
