The Wrong Kind of Love

2018

I received an ARC of this book through NetGalley. I thought this was a cute love story but it also had some triggering subject matter such as depression and suicide as well as others so be aware of that going in. I don't have personal experience with the topics that are handled in this book but I think they were handled well but I would definitely suggest you read own voices reviews. As I said this was a cute love story. We have Ethan who is a single father and then there's Nicole who has been dealt one shit hand after another. After her most recent devastation she flees to a small town and she begins to find herself. I guess you would say this is a grumpy sunshine romance however Nicole deals with depression so it's not always sunshine and rainbows. I loved the kid in this book. Her name was Lilly and I believe she was 6. She just added more to the story. It was cute with a little bit of steam and it was slow burn. I do have to say that Nicole forgave her sister way to easily. I mean they never really sat down and had a conversation about what happened and the sister never really gave a heartfelt apology and yet they all went on like nothing ever happened. I definitely want to continue on with this series because I want more of the Jackson boys.
