Lots of it was completely fascinating, but there were a lot of strange tangents it went on occasionally that I felt took away from the central narrative. So much so that they started to feel like padding to the story, which was a bit of a shame.

Despite plenty of room to develop a strong narrative, this book is dry and fact-based. Even though history and lore around witches fascinates me, I found this one to be “just okay.” Listened on audio and enjoyed the narration.

This would make a perfect Reader's Digest Condensed Book.
