No le doy 5 estrellas porque a veces tanta descripción me parece pesada pero me ha gustado.
In the spirit (mist spirit) of full transparency, this sucker gets 4 stars primarily due to everything that happens AFTER the siege of Luthadel. Love me some weird lore revelations
Absolute a 5/5 banger of a book.
twists and turns and amazing plot development and I still have so many questions that aren't answered.
This was a lot of fun to read. I LOVE Scadrial.
WHAT AN AMAZING BOOK
Brandon Sanderson does it again, his books are amazing.
This is the second book in the first Mistborn trilogy. It is placed 2 years after the fall of the final empire and we are presented with the struggle to build a new government after so many years of oppression.
I have read in many reviews that this book is slow passed until the final part, and even though I agree, this does not have to be bad. I found the evolution and exploration of the “side” characters very pleasing. Since the first book was focused on the Revolution and on the background Vin's relationship with Kelsier and Elend. In this book, the tables are turned and the main focus lies on the characters and their relationship, and we find in the background the current war driving the plot forward. In this book, I've come to know and love many characters that were merely mentioned in the first book, and many of my favorite characters in this world have come through this book (i.e Sazed and OreSeur)
Although this book could be considered more of a character study the Story is also damm good. How Brandon Sanderson just presents us with small clues that with time start fitting together is amazing. And best of all is when at the end all of a sudden he just slaps you in the face with a plot twist hinted at the very beginning of the book. But somehow it all works.
All in all, I loved this book, even more than the first one.
Stop reading reviews and go read this book.
This book follows the events of The Final Empire and tells us about the rebuilding of Luthadel after the Lord Ruler fall. It was much slower paced but includes a lot more politics which was interesting to read.
What I liked about the book:
- We are introduced to new characters and have the opportunity to read through more POV's, which contributed greatly for the character and story development. I particularly liked to read about Zane.
- As The Final Empire, I liked most of the characters and consider this as one of the greatest assets of the book. Sazed is still my favourite character and I absolutely love his storyline and hope to see more of TenSoon.
- Although I've found the end predictable, the book had several twists I was not expecting.
- Action packed ending where Sanderson is again a master of tying everything up, leaving us satisfied with the book and expectant for the next instalment of the series.
What I think it could have been done better:
- This book introduced several characters and let other important characters fall. I was a bit disappointed with Docks ARC on this book. I understand his smaller role as he interacted more with Kell. However, he had crucial role managing de team and his competencies were essential for rebuilding the society, which could have had a greater impact on this story, despite his dislike for the nobles.
- I'm still not convinced about Vin and Elend relationship and disliked her unhealthy dependency and obsession with him. I've felt that as Elend character became more interesting, Vin experienced the inverse and felt a bit wicker. I confess I'm a bit worried about the next book regarding both these characters as his growth appears to be obscuring Vin when I believed it would be only supportive of her.
- One of the things I was liking regarding Mistborn was that there were important characters with no magic or special powers who were still able to perform an important role in the world. Unfortunately, this is disappearing from the series.
Overall, it was a good sequel, but I'm not as impressed with the series as I was.
This was a marvelous book the first pages I was a little hesitant about if I would like it or not but after a few pages more this one got me,knowing the risk of the situation that the protagonist have was getting on my nerve and That make me wanna read more of it than at the ending everything explode in my face and I loved it how all the characters were meaningful was really something although I have to say this would not be a book I like to reread it a little bit heavy and dense and kinda slow in some parts but after all I think this book was amazing compared to the other one I feel like it's way better and I firmly suspect that the next one it's gonna be stunning and way better than this one I'm hopeful that the next would be the hit to a 5 stars book finally after thinking a writing this I think this book is a (4.4 stars)
The Well of Ascension had a tough job following up the first book in the series, but it did the trick. It was a slow starter but ended up being a strong follow-up to the series starter. It wears a lot of hats as it tries to tie up some storylines while moving us towards the end of the series. I'm not sure where things are going at the end of the trilogy, but I can say that The Well of Ascension had me reaching for the next book immediately.
damn
this stuff is good. i'm supposed to be revising for my exams yet i'm reading this book for 2-5 hours a day instead... it's like god damn crack cocaine
A brilliant follow up from the first one. The plot was riveting. The action was amazing as usual. I really enjoyed when the characters were forced to govern their kingdom/ seemed so grounded in reality. I had some problems but they were far and few in between.
For now I nap and when I wake up I'll start reading the 3rd book.
I have no words, it was just insanely amazing and somehow I liked it even more than the first book.
Loved this!
It gave many answers, and sparked even more questions.
Sanderson was able to fit a fascinating and properly paced story within 150 pages, and has done so masterfully!
Highly recommend to anyone who has completed the Original Mistborn trilogy.
This is a very solid follow-up to The Final Empire, expanding the setting and cast while still feeling lived-in, real, and familiar. I'll be looking forward to Hero of Ages, albeit with some trepidation because Sanderson has made it clear with this entry that nobody and nothing is necessarily safe, and even the things that seem well-established can be unreliable.
A great read, and if I wasn't fully invested in the Cosmere before, I sure am now.
Fabulous second book. It was slow in the start but picked up.
My thoughts:
WHAT he is a MistBorn now, he has very little character growth and becomes a MistBorn all because of one mist spirit. I can't.
That twist of betrayal though. I didn't see that coming at all.
I was hoping more for zane.
Good book though.
Wow! I had no idea where this was going. The pacing is a bit slow but the book was engaging all the way through.
You did it again Sanderson. As the first book of this serie, I don't know where we are going with this serie. I don't really care because I am just enjoying every minute of the read. Some people could consider it slow paced but the universe building and character psychology is so good that you just want to spend more time in this universe.
