The Turn of the Screw

Like ‘Dracula' I had high expectations venturing into this novella and like ‘Dracula' it disappointed me greatly. Henry James' verbose prose left much to be desired. Overly dramatic main character paired with an overly ambiguous story made for a stale reading experience. In the end the heavily perfumed writing drowned the all important storyline. I'm starting to lose interest in Victorian horror. Oh well.
