I was surprised at how much ragging there was but - I loved this, it pieces together several stories around our main narrative through other pieces of told and found stories. It's a portal fantasy to a gigantic book underground - which I felt pandered maybe a little to much to book people but heck, why not. The writing is delicious. The criticism I've read/ heard is that there is some middle-end bogging down in plot or narrative drive. I think that might be fair, I didn't notice tho.
