The Space Between Us

Prior to The Space Between Us, I had read just a grand total of two sci-fi novels, but the author of this one is none other than Doug Johnstone, who is also responsible for the wonderful Skelf series.
I had high hopes. Doug didn't disappoint. The Space Between Us is a first contact alien story, the alien in question being a squid-like creature.
I'm not going to give the story away. Suffice to say, I wish such a creature did exist to help us make this world a happier place.
