Although I applaud the book's message of needing to move beyond your past - no matter how difficult - and take responsibility for your life, the main character never seemed to let go of her anger and hostility and in the end I didn't feel the author believed her own moral. I've enjoyed this author's previous novels, but this one was a bit of a bummer. Lots of good food for thought about how our memories define us - and why the lack of any memory at all can be so devastating. I can't help thinking that the author was going through a difficult time in her life because her other books were much more upbeat.
