I voluntarily read an Advanced Readers Copy.

This was the first book I read by Aubrey Michelle and I ended up liking it. There were some aspects that I thought could have be better but overall it was fun quick read.

There was some grammatical errors which could be because I received an unedited copy. I'm not sure if what I read was a unedited copy or not so if it wasn't then it definitely needs a little more editing. My copy had some typos and some misspelled words but like I said nothing a little more editing couldn't fix.

Jason “The Silencer” Stark is an MMA fighter. He fights to be able to take care of his younger brother because their parents aren't in the picture. Shelly is an RN at an Assisted Living Center. Even though this book was technically supposed to be more about the MMA (at least that's what I think) that part actually fell flat to me.

What kept me reading was all the drama at the Assisted Living Center. That was the best part to me. This book was mostly told from 2 perspectives, Jason's and Shelly's.

I think Shelly is a strong female lead but I really wish she would have stood up for herself more at work.

Jason! What to say about Jason? He's your typical bad boy that changes his way for a girl which isn't a bad thing but that's not what stood out to me about him. I loved how he was doing everything for his brother. I thought that was the sweetest thing considering their background. That alone is what made me love him.

I wish Jason's brother would have been more prominent in the story. He was basically just a side character to make the story move along. I liked that I just wish we could have had more of him.

Ugh that ending. While I do like the ending I think everything wrapped up and worked out a little to well in my opinion. It kind of felt a little rushed.

If you're looking for a quick cute read then this is the book for you.
