I am struggling to figure out what to say about this book. It was/is a very hyped book and to me it was overly hyped. I didn't hate this book by any means but I wasn't blown away by it either.

Yes it has a lot of rep which is great and I feel like all of that was handled really well but I don't have first hand experience with any of it so you probably would be better off reading someone else review who actually relates to it personally. There are also trigger warnings with this book so you should definitely look into that before reading this if you are easily triggered.

This book is essentially a memoir of a fictional character at least it reads like that to me. I was intrigued enough to want to continue on with the book and see how things played out for the characters but at the same time I was kind of bored because I was basically just reading about some ones day to day life and I just didn't care. I wasn't invested in any of the characters. There was only one instance at the end of the book where the emotion actually got to me and I teared up a little but other than that I didn't really care.

I am making it sound like I hated this book but I really didn't. I think this is a case where the hype got to me and my expectations going in were way to high. Had I read this before the hype got out of control I think I would have loved it.

I can see why people love this book and I would definitely recommend it if you haven't already read it but unfortunately I didn't love it as much as everyone else.
