Oh my gosh, I absolutely adored this book! This is the first I've read from Taylor Jenkins Reid and I immediately want all of her other books, I'm hooked.

I'm sure everyone knows the plot but in a super short summary this follows journalist Monique Grant who is contacted out of the blue to write an article on an auction of gowns from '50s starlet Evelyn Hugo. She goes to meet Evelyn who reveals she actually wants Monique to write her life story, no holds barred. The book then follows Evelyn recounting her life, her seven husbands and all of the things in between.

To say this is an addicting read is an understatement, the writing is perfection and you immediately feel like you are transported to the '50s, '60s, etc. with barely any description required. That is excellent writing.

The characters are flawed but completely absorbing, Evelyn herself is just the most wonderfully complex and intriguing character. And how can anyone not just fall in love with Harry? One thing I really loved was Monique's growth throughout the book, she has her own issues and story which is impacted through this meeting with Evelyn. The ending between the two of them was just so emotional.

I would recommend this to everyone, I will be giving it everyone and insisting they read it. I just love it and want everyone to feel the way I felt when I finished it, just be prepared to be completely absorbed in this book for a few days and probably shed a tear!
