No, it wasn't the cover that encouraged me to read it. It wasn't the title either. The plot, the story of the life of an aging movie icon and her seven husbands as shared with an unknown journalist? No, it wasn't that either.

It was the overwhelmingly positive buzz from blogger friends about this book that encouraged me to read it. So I did.

The book is everything the cover and the title and the plot blurb promise. It's the story of a girl who fought her way into Hollywood using her stunning natural beauty and her ruthlessness to get her there.

But it's more than that, too. Now I understand the buzz.
