How the complaining hero saved the earth from dissolution. It got a bit too 'deus ex machina' for me. And then it finished with a chapter that should have been called, 'Be careful what you wish for' as they dropped the hero into a life of regret.
It was special.
Took me forever to read. Mostly due to changing jobs and schedules, but also just because it took a lot of effort to digest. Was really expecting a Doctorow book, but it felt a lot more like stross.
I'm not really sure I processed most of it, especially really the very end.
This has made it into my list of favorite books of all time. It's one part Alice in Wonderland, one part Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, with a generous portion of good fun.
