The Radleys

This was a quick and easy read but I did not find myself enjoying it very much. While I did appreciate the satire of the British Middle Class the majority of the novel just seemed a bit too much like a teen soap opera to me.

I also found the author's use of cultural references with their names changed slightly to become “Vampire” a bit infantile and unnecessary.

I can understand why many people enjoyed it. This is not your standard vampire fare, and from that point of view it was an interesting read. But as a whole it left me feeling underwhelmed.

L'idée est cool, mais trop de longueurs à mon goût (notamment l'amourette entre les 2 ados).

At times the theme seems to be about the futility of fighting your true nature, but then, no. Haig chickens out. What's more lame than glittery vampires? Suburban, middle-class vampires fighting to maintain the status quo.
