I NEED MORE like I need to know if garret will be a human again, even for taryin, although she is not my fav character...
Found it very boring, did not believe the love story, characters had no chemistry and mmc just claimed over and over to love fmc, the change in pov wasnt a great choice.
I skipped ~30% of the middle half, the writing isn't bad i just feel like it can't compare to the level of Cardan and Jude. Wren and Oak are still super fun together BUT the drama kept. going. ON. and ON.
did't love the plot that was driven by two characters continually betraying/distrusting each other.
I don't live this duology as much as the original trilogy, but it was fun to go back to Elfhame! I felt like a lot happened yet not a lot happened. I am eager for the next Folk of the Air book (which seems to be happening)!
I enjoy Holly's writing!
Oh God I finally finished this. The only saving grace of this book was the sprinkling of Jude and Cardan being murderous together every few chapters. I could not, for the love of God, come to care for Oak or Wren in this. And I liked the first book but thissss?!? It was soooo convoluted for 200 pages and then took off in the last part.
Please at this point just give me another Jude and Cardan book!
I love oak so much, jude and cardan are so funny I can't
this book was definitely more sad than the other book of elfhame in my opinion, but it's well balanced with funny and heartwarming moments

the first 60% felt really long and dragged out but the rest of it was so fun and i really enjoyed seeing some of the characters from TFOTA make an appearance! it took more than half the book but i eventually got over my dislike of Wren, too
