I'll be honest: I'm bored and have better things to do with my life than read an uninteresting book. What I did read was unimpressive. The way characters were handled felt icky for reasons I can't quite articulate and the wording was just plain awkward. How awkward, you wonder? This is a real sentence in the story: “A hummingbird taps the nectar in one of the red flowers that bedeck the vines that climb the posts that support the patio cover.”
