This should be required reading for every white person in the US. I'm shocked at how much I didn't know, or knew but had never thought critically about. Begins with a comprehensive grounding in the history of slavery and the civil rights movement, and ultimately constructs a thoroughly-damning picture of the role of the modern criminal justice system in enacting systemic racism.
