So I just finally got around to reading Dork Diaries, and then I move on to this new series, Max Crumbly. It's by the same author as Dork Diaries, and the truth is that it's a boy version of Dork Diaries. About time this came back around since Dork Diaries is basically a girl version of Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
Yes, it's quite derivative, but it's incredibly readable and wacky and filled with crazy action (our main character Max is trapped in his locker by a bully for a long weekend in which he escapes from the locker and discovers thieves in his school) and fun illustrations.
