The Last of Their Race

An old tale of the last of a Scottish family who have fallen on hard times. Isla has held the home together by sheer willpower while her brother Malcolm has lived the high life around the world and driven the old home deeply in debt. When he falls on disgrace and comes home unexpectedly, it's going to be a sure clash of natures.

This was an easy book to read in one sitting and I didn't find it hard to feel for Isla's plight even as others find her chilly and nagging because of what she's been through. I really enjoyed it.
