The Kingdom on the Waves

Summary: This is a continuation of Octavian's story. After he escaped enslavement, dug trenches for the American revolutionary forces, was recaptured, and escaped again in Volume I, Octavian now finds himself, alongside Dr. Trefusis, who assisted in his escape, among the Loyalists and the British army. When Lord Dunmore announces that he will grant freedom to any enslaved person who fights for the British, Octavian joins the royal army, and while in the service, he meets many others who have escaped slavery and begins to form bonds with them.
