The Jasmine Throne

honestly i think i just couldn't handle the darker aspects of this book. the story itself was compelling and i was beginning to get invested in the main couple's story but like. i suppose i just cant connect with a story thats just “awful awful awful awful” for the whole book. i need some sort of hope but it's just constant racism, sexism, abuse, trauma etc etc. maybe i'll come back to this someday but one particular scene i just read kinda soured me on the whole story, so i don't know.
