I was pleasantly surprised on how much I enjoyed this. It did take me a while to finish but I wanted to make sure that I understood what was happening and being said.
Now, some parts did feel redundant and that bored me. However, I enjoyed the overall experience.

Abandon hope all ye who try to read this. Well, this is poetry. If you want a novel try somewhere else. Easier then Shakespeare, but still I can't audio-listen to this and enjoy a good plot.
This book should be read slowly, with a lot of side notes, and after a careful decision of the translation.

A very interesting though tough read. A beautiful, complicated poem that requires reading of the footnotes to understand it at all. Dante has weaved many characters and events/places that would be impossible for the average reader to comprehend without help. He hits the mark with his creative states of purgatory and hell.
