The linear, first-person narrative worked really well and created a quick-paced adventure that does not pull its punches. Addtionally, there is an almost perfect amount of world-building - one that sets the dystopian backdrop with grandure and depth, but also focuses more on the characters and moving the story forward by never going too far off center with unneccsary detail. Those who haven't seen (or don't vividly remember) the movie, should even be surprised by a couple of the reveals later in the story.
